We had a blast canoeing on the Tennessee River. We started out with a good old breakfast from McDonald's (Nothing beats a number 4 with cheese and a coke in the morning!) and drove about 45 miles to the Crazy Horse Canoe rental place. They had different trips to choose from ranging from 4 hours to 7 hours or you can even take an overnight canoe trip, but I am not ready for that one yet. We took the 5 hour trip and started out about 9:30am. The river has a nice current and if you can stay going in the right direction, you won't have to paddle that much. We saw so lots of wildlife, birds, fish, bugs, and so many turtles I couldn't count. We stopped and played a little, but we didn't come prepared so we couldn't stay out long. The next time we will be better prepared with snacks and drinks and a lunch so we can stop for a picnic along the river. There was a waterfall, lots of rock formations and beautiful scenery everywhere. The trip took us about 4 hours, cuz we didn't stop much, but we had a blast and the experience is something we will always remember.
